Hello, are you sure about the front mounted pump? It looks like a winch. It cannot be a former LF-8 as the cab is too small. Löschfahrzeug-8 had a cab for 9 Fm i.e. a Gruppe.

Anyway very rare chassis for France

If it was an LF8, it has been very extensively rebodied!

So lets keep it as a FPTL then!

In its day the L813 was not the most common LF8, as the Mercedes 608 panel van could accommodate the 800 LPM front mounted pump, nine person crew and scheduled equipment in a smaller and much less expensive package. There were however some heavier 813 and 911 units, but not that many.

The 813 was also found, with the factory two door cab, as the bases for the 1800 liter light water tender and for the Metz compact 18 meter turntable ladder, and was also fairly popular as a pumper in the Netherlands, with a rear mounted pump.

picture 19260 has a Colmar Mercedes 1113 pumper, which was a heavier unit but still very closely related to the 813 and had the same power unit. These were also very uncommon in France at the time….
