YFJ525K Dennis F49 WrL Exeter later passed to Devon, with them when this photo was taken in 1983.
This appliance was delivered new to Exeter City Fire Brigade equipped to carry a wheeled escape, but it never saw service as a Pump Escape. It carried a lacon ladder.
It ended service being used as Exeter's third pump. Crewed by Exeter retained. Simon Rowley reports in 2017:
"F49 that I purchased in a very poor condition at the Passeys auction in Oxfordshire more than 25 years ago. Since then it has been moved about and has been vandalised but I am pleased to say that it is now under cover in the Emergency Services Museum store near Sheffield. It will, when finances allow, been fully restored to its Devon condition as it is not feasible to put it back in its original condition as Devon rebuilt the back end after an RTC."
