308[w]50 SLPgaz - VW T4 - Warsaw, Poland
A light breathing apparatus van on a Volkswagen Transporter T4, stationed at Warsaw’s State Fire Service Fire and Rescue Unit 8 (JRG-8, Praga-Południe). The vehicle carriers 10 ready-to-use BA sets. It is dispatched whenever a large number of BAs is needed at an incident. A it is a ‘smaller brother’ of 304[W]50, a Renault Midlum BA carrier/field service unit (JRG-4).

JRG-8 provides cover for the Praga-Południe district. It was established in 1961 and for some time, Warsaw Fire Brigade HQ offices were located in the station building. Today, the Voivodoship (Regional/Provincial) HQ of the State Fire Service uses the spacious JRG-8 building as the base for its training unit, the SDF KSRG (the National Fire and Rescue System Development Section). Station 8 is also home to the Specialist Medical Rescue Group ‘Warszawa-8’. The group’s main role is organizing treatment for large numbers of casualties at major incidents, but it also carries out rehab & care duties. The station also holds a stock of first aid equipment, backboards, etc.
