Dumfires and Galloway had a number of these compact pumps that presumably carried less than 1800 litres. Could be driven without HGV licence.

Excalibur CBK built a range of fire engines for brigades across the UK using various chassis including Dennis, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.

Their first orders were in 1985 from the Powys brigade in Wales. It was based in Staffordshire and ceased trading after ten years or so.

Light pumpers with an 800 LPM pump and a GVW under 7.5 tons were universally popular for many decades with German volunteer fire companies for the same reason that they could be driven without a HGV licence. They did not have a water tank, but a water tender of 1800 liter capacity was also around on the same chassis, but without a crew cab or much allowance for equipment. Numerous examples of these types are to be found in the German section of this site. Looking at this example, we may perhaps be reminded of the quite popular little Dennis F8 from the early fifties, which was very compact and could be supplied with a 200 to 350 IG water tank, although the later version with Miles aluminium bodywork had a full 1800 liter tank.
