It seems most fire services use dive team water rescue tenders for surface rescue incidents too, making this dedicated surface water rescue unit a rather uncommon idea.

During my visit this January 24, I didn't see a divers team rescue van at the Basel FS. What I know is that Basel Police has a diving squad team.
