This is an interesting one, dedicated to drumming up membership in the youth fire service. Although the system varies from place to place, it is very wide spread in Germany, while not quite so universal in most other countries - and practically unheard of in the US.
Kids as young as ten or twelve can join and “play” at being firefighters, with encouragement to join as volunteers when they are deemed old enough - usually sixteen to eighteen. They are also taught fire awareness, first aid and how to develop teamwork and mutual self reliance, as well as swimming, lifesaving and general fitness training and safe stamina exercises .
Altogether it seems a very successful program, even today when real life is secondary to screen time for so many young people.
