Note the long wheelbase chassis to accommodate a crew cab on a relatively short four section 22 metre ladder. Just as in the rest of Europe, German fire services crewed turntable ladders with a full squad of firefighters in the fifties, but - as in most other countries - this practice died out in the sixties and seventies.
