Interesting to compare this 7.2 ton Iveco to West Metro FD’s latest 26 ton tandem axle Freightliner hazmat rig! We always knew French fire service vehicles tended to be on the compact end of the scale, while American ones are all too often unnecessarily huge, but this must be just about the most extreme example of this discrepancy.

Both fire services are however facing the same problem, however. The number of hazmat incidents is growing rapidly - just a simple car fire is now a hazmat incident if it is an electric car. And even residential houses and apartments are increasingly stuffed with items which constitute a potential hazmat situation.
