Characteristic long dual handle locker above the rear axle. A unique Carmichael feature, of which they were rather proud at that time….Apart from the fact that it is a PE, it looks a lot like the York Commer Carmichael on this site, which was the unit which turned up as Dinky Supertoys number 555. My home town, Darlington, had a similar water tender, RHN 999, which had a slightly different midships layout, with very low mounted hose reels. It ended its days at the Teesside Airport, being replaced by a Dennis F108 in 1969.
