Israeli fire services used to favor Mercedes, then migrated to MAN and it seems they are now keen on Iveco. I have to wonder if this progression reflects a concern with costs, as in most countries Ivecos are less expensive, but also very often less well regarded with respect to quality and durability. I recall that after Magirus was merged into Iveco they were encouraged to try to insist that their pumps, bodywork and aerial ladders should always be mounted on Iveco chassis - but customer resistance rapidly put paid it that approach!
