Both Tatra and tht are actually Czech firms, and this unit is lettered for delivery to a Czech fire brigade. Tatas in four, six and eight wheel fire fighting and military versions are also exported widely in Europe, and are to be found with some US fire departments too. They’re big tankers do show up with some German fire services too, due to their exceptional off-road capabilities.

I forgot to mention the Tatra-tht five axle tanker, which holds no less than 21, 000 litres! tht claim to have delivered their fire trucks to no less than 22 countries. It seems they are mostly on either Tatra or Scania chassis, plus a smaller number on MAN and Iveco. The US tankers with San Diego FD are Tatras. Although not all are AWD, it seems most are.
