Commer / Karrier were the only British truck maker to offer a factory crew cab back in the day. Very popular as bin wagons.

Yes, although it is interesting that with the exception of Northumberland, which bought around ten, no British brigades actually bought their chassis with the factory crew cab. My guess is because the crew cab was short, narrow and had a rather low roof. In Europe, brigades were totally happy with then, not to mention similarly rather cramped factory crew cabs from Magirus, MAN, Mercedes, Herschel, DAF, Renault, FIAT, Scania, Volvo and others. With the introduction of tilt cabs, we have moved away from factory crew cabs, and most new units these days are based on standard two door factory cabs.
