GXN211 Austin K4 M'weather TL 60' NFS
The body was built by Edwards Bros of Bolton and the 60 foot turntable ladder is by Merryweather & Sons. New in 1944 to the National Fire Service who stationed it at both Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea at various times. It was transferred to Rhyl in March 1948 and passed to the County of Flint Fire Service. The brigade then had it converted to mechanical operation. It never had a Barton front mounted pump fitted. Last shout was in 1971 in Holywell in the town's bargain supermarket at Bank Place.
Her history was in Rhyl for 17 years on active service and 5 years in Deeside prior to ending up in Hawker Siddeley's in Broughton, purely for maintenance work.
Later in Merseyside fire mus in grey where she is probably now. The above photo 1996.
