GGN802 Fordson7v escape carrier

wartime NFS vehicle, absorbed in to East Sussex Fire Brigade in 1948, painted in red livery it served at Uckfield, passed on to the Red Bull House Fire Dept, a catering busniness in Portslade, then being sold on. It's still in preservation and back in its grey NFS livery. It's log book shows various owners including Mike Hebard in the 1980's.

I have found this image of it in service at Uckfield.

with a front mounted Barton-American pump rated at 350 IGPM, a 130 IG water tank and two first aid hose reels.

As mentioned above, these wartime issued pump escapes on both a Fordson chassis like this example and also on Austin chassis were extensively used by fire brigades after the postwar return to local administration, and many served well into the sixties.
