The 1200 litre water tank is meant to provide for a minimum of three minutes supply for a single attack line working the CAF system at a flow rate of up to 400 LPM water = 1600 LPM class A foam. This douses a very high percentage of fires, and gives the crew time to set into a hydrant if a more serious incident is being encountered. All these Berlin pumpers have a system which can supply two CAF attack lines with a total of 800 LPM, as well as (or instead of) plain water up to around 2800 LPM, subject to hydrant supply constraints.
