1934 Dennis D3 (predecessor of the Big 4) pump escape new to Letchworth FB, taken into Hertfordshire FB in 1948. 4-cyl 5702cc side-valve petrol engine, 350-400gpm, in production 1932 to 1935. In this 1985 photo owned by J Hill of Botley.

How appropriate that England's first "garden city" should have a GREEN fire engine! I believe odd coloured appliances were rather rare in those days, with a few maroon examples but most fire brigades happy to have red.
