German designed high pressure impulse fire extinguishing system on a Japanese chassis, which is liveried with these distinctive stripes for service in The Netherlands.
Thanks. To my mind it is an excellent example of just how international the fire truck building business has become. Rosenbauer, by all accounts the largest global fire truck builders, have factories in sixteen countries! These include several famous names they have acquired, including of course Metz.
As for the impulse system, it is only one of a number of new technologies which have cropped up recently. It will be interesting to see how quickly it becomes accepted - or if it just fades away like some of the other innovations.
By the way, when Mercedes discontinued the very popular Vario 6 to 8 tons chassis - which was used by loads of fire services in many countries - they replaced it with the Mitsubishi, but it does not seem to have become anywhere near as popular. A lot of German fire services are refurbishing their old Varios instead of buying the Mitsubishi offering.
