Rob Johnson, seem's the support fleets are going white. East Sussex have had White Staff Cars for a few years now, and all of Kent's "non-front line" fleet, apart from the USAR Dog Unit pictured, are white.

The colour choice may well be just a cost thing as I know that with most vehicle manufacturers particularly Ford white paint is free where as other colours are an option at extra cost.

Sean; Yes, indeed that's very true. In fact for several years many German fire brigades have bought standard factory white trucks and applied various red or red and yellow vinyl wraps to give the appearance of a primarily red appliance.

With vans, it is not only often cheaper to begin with but it is also easier to sell them off later than if they were painted red...
