The towing hitch presumably indicates that this would tow a small boat trailer when needed…Most European water rescue trucks are 3.5 to 5.0 ton panel vans so that divers have space to get into their diving suits en route to a water rescue incident. They include 4X4 versions in a few cases, and in some places with high levels of water rescue activity the water rescues include full size trucks with a large crew compartment and the ability to carry a boat combined into a single vehicle.
This HiLux and the older British water rescue Land Rovers don’t seem to have space for rescuers to don their gear in this way.
