Thornycroft Nubian Major LAA 552L & KYK 945D
During the International Airshow, photographic restrictions were lifted at the normally secretive MoD Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough. This photo of two Thornycroft Nubian Major airfield crash tenders in the black shed fire station. 1973 registered LAA 552L and 1966 registered KYK 945D. Seven years separate manufacturing dates and there are quite a number of differences in the front of the two machines including mirror mounting, radiator grill, windscreens, front door location and access steps.
