Many Hungarian volunteer fire companies have followed a common practice among German volunteers, which is to have a van like this - and actually very often a VW Transporter at that. Usually kitted out with either six or nine seats, it is not only used as a general purpose runabout, but also gets used to respond to incidents after the first and (if any) subsequent due fire and/or rescue units have turned out.
This way, members who did not get to the station in time to crew an appliance can still respond, adding to the available resources at the incident.
