Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service Volvo Angloco water carrier T122 JPO from Bordon fire station. The vehicle carries 8,000 litres of water. It was attending a large storage shed fire near Blackwater along with multiple other appliances. Photo taken 29th April 2022.

If you want to carry 8,000 litres on a short wheelbase chassis like this, it is a good idea to have a full width tank with an inverted T cross section, to keep the height down and lower the center of gravity.

There are some examples of this construction from Belgium and the Netherlands on this site. Although more expensive, the design does improve safety and reduce the propensity for a rollover.
