This generation of "Eckhauber" ("square bonnet") Magirus Deutz fire trucks were built from 1953 to 1975. Although mainly sold in standard German specifications as pumps, water tenders, rescues and turntable ladders, a large number of specials were also produced - and numerous units were exported. They were unique in having air cooled engines, and the giant fan can be seen behind the grille.
