NGTE Pyestock, Farnborough

Bit of an unusual one this. The photo was taken at what was the National Gas Turbine Establishment, a Ministry of Defence research establishment at Pyestock, Farnborough, Hampshire. This was one of the biggest industrial complexes in the south of England before closure around 2000 and subsequent demolition. Present outside the fire station are Bedford CF ambulance APF 168T, Land Rover forward control fire engine ELA 825J, Bedford TK ALX 622H and Ford Transit LPA 197W.

Personally for me the all red HCB Angus TK makes all the difference. Much better than the more numerous unpainted ones, although I do reluctantly accept why so many brigades preferred them….
