Civil Defense (KS) pump appliances are operated by - and issued to - regular volunteer fire companies in Germany, and can be used by them any time at everyday incidents if needed. The specifications are similar to locally procured units, except that there is a greater focus on high volume water delivery (not unlike the Green Goddesses of old in the UK). To this end, they carry additional portable pumps and extra 75mm hoses, while having a reduced compliment of other items. Just like the later series of Goddesses, they are invariably 4X4.
