This is Austin TL GXN205 which was the first of the Brigades three wartime Austin 60ft TL's to be taken off the run. it was withdrawn with a major engine fault in the mid sixties and obviously sat around outside the brigades workshops at Hestercombe house near Taunton for sometime. Now in preservation.

Ed: Ok some websites list this as serving in Sussex - that's wrong then.

GXN 210 and GXN 215 were the West Sussex pair, serving at Chichester & Worthing (swapped between the two stations), and replaced by ERF SS85 HPs in 1970/1971.

Somerset had GXN205 stationed at C2 Bridgwater, GXN208 stationed at B1 Yeovil and GXN218 stationed at C1 Taunton. GXN218 being the last one to be taken off the run when it was replaced by an ERF Pump Hydraulic Platform OYB999L

We've since learnt that GXN205 served at Weston super mare in 1948 and was the first Turntable appliance to serve there
