Thornycroft /Carmichael ACT RAE GPM506N
This served most of its life at The Royal Aircraft Establishment in Farnborough. Hants. It was Home Office run, not Military, served from 1975 till 2004, and was the last Thornycroft commissioned for the RAE. It is now stabled with another from the same Airfield, KYK 945D, which was the first Thorny commissioned for the site in 1966.These vehicles ran and worked side by side for almost 25 years. (KYK is a pre-production model and is unique.)

It wasn't actually Home Office run but rather the Ministry of Defence Procurement Executive that ran the RAE and countless other research and development establishments. MoD(PE) was the acquisition organisation of the Ministry of Defence, as opposed to Army, Navy & RAF. See the name on picture 31759 for what I mean.
