This photo very clearly illustrates the typical French one man hose carts which are still very much a standard feature of almost all French pumpers intended for urban structural fires. Each one has ten 20 meter lengths of 70mm hose, and in this example they are also fitted with splitter/reducer attachments. More recent cart configurations sometimes include additional stowage for two 38 or 45mm attack hoses, or - one one cart - a standpipe and gated valve for hydrant hookup.
