This takes me back to when I was a student in Heidelberg. I was almost run over by an identical fire service Beetle crossing the famous (and very narrow) 1786 vintage Old Bridge over the Neckar River near the castle! No "blues and twos", so it must have been returning from a shout or just beetling about....
