KTS appliances were the German equivalent of the British Green Goddess, although they were supplied to existing volunteer fire companies rather than a specially created fire fighting force like the AFS. The were - and still are - supplied by both the Federal and Land governments, and there are a variety of specifications, which have evolved as the years have passed. In general, they are quite similar to regular municipal fire pumps, but tend to emphasize water supply and water relaying capability. This one has a front mounted pump and (most probably) a PP in a rear compartment. On the roof can be seen piping for a hose bridging array, as well as a foam branch.
