Brush trucks - identified as "CCF" are very numerous in France, and actually slightly outnumber urban water tenders, with around 4,500 in use. They are classified by tank size, which varies from 1,000 to 6,000 on two axle 4X4 units along with 6X6 units from 7, 000 to 12,000 and 8X4 supply tankers with 13,000 litres.
Features include pump and roll, a winch, roll cages, self protection water or foam piping to enable them to literally drive through burning vegetation, remote control monitors and CAFS installations. Single and crew cabs are both to be found, including the very compact four seat cab like this Renault, where the rear seats are sideways to save space.
