Comparatively rare Magirus LF8. These were built on the Italian OM light truck chassis, which was first absorbed into FIAT and then became part of Iveco. When Magirus were brought into Iveco, there was pressure to offer this chassis in the enormous volunteer fire companies’ market for LF8 light pumpers, dominated at the time by Mercedes and Opel.

Magirus obliged, with the unit in this photo, but - despite the firm’s deservedly excellent reputation for their full size trucks - these LF8s did not sell well.
