Fire Engines Photos

This German city has a population of 575, 000 and is protected by both full time paid and unpaid volunteer firefighters. This is a typical arrangement in all areas of the country.

There are five large full time fire stations and 21 volunteer fire companies. EMS units are positioned at the full time fire stations, and are supported by other professional and volunteer EMS organizations, while the volunteer fire companies are mainly confined to fire, accident and disaster response.
