A bit of a puzzle picture. The badge on the door is Belfast Airport, but the first word on the side has been removed, so I would suggest it had been sold when this picture was taken. The fire station does look a bit like Manchester Airport to me. I was unaware that Belfast had any of those Nubians with this bodywork. A really interesting picture.
Registration looks like SML71F on another copy of this photo I have. I have now found another Belfast Thornycroft Carmichael which I will post shortly. CVB2780. From the design, it is not the same machine re-registered.
Odd that it was re-registered with a similar number.

Yes SML171F and CVB278D were both at Belfast International Airport both had a refurb around 1980 to the 2 man cab - when I started in 1980 there were 5 Nubian Majors GIA 3601 GIA 3602 PIA 6412.I think 3601 and 3602 went to Plymouth 6412 to Carlisle - hope this helps don't know about CVB or SML
