I think this is either Dublin or Shannon airport.

A bit of a puzzle picture.
The badge on the door is Belfast Airport, but the first word on the side has been removed, so I would
suggest it had been sold when this picture was taken.
The fire station does look a bit like Manchester
Airport to me.
I was unaware that Belfast had any of those Nubians with this bodywork.
A really interesting picture.

Its Manchester Airport.

My guess as to the location was correct then.

Registration looks like SML71F on another copy of this photo I have. I have now found another Belfast Thornycroft Carmichael which I will post shortly. CVB2780. From the design, it is not the same machine re-registered.

The registration was SML 171F, it later went to Blackpool airport and was re-registered KBV 809F.

Odd that it was re-registered with a similar number.

Yes SML171F and CVB278D were both at Belfast International Airport both had a refurb around 1980 to the 2 man cab - when I started in 1980 there were 5 Nubian Majors GIA 3601 GIA 3602 PIA 6412.I think 3601 and 3602 went to Plymouth 6412 to Carlisle - hope this helps don't know about CVB or SML

Ed: CVB278D is here

I believe that CVB also went to Plymouth and SML to Blackpool and was re-registered KBV 809F as above.

Ed: there is a rare short cabbed Thornycroft here also ex Plymouth. John above refers to shortened cabs:
