After commencing truck production in Poland in 1948, state owned Star manufactured numerous fire truck chassis until and even after the firm was bought by German MAN in 1999.
Although the brand name disappeared in 2009, production in the last decade was still badged Star even though the chassis, driveline and cab were all MAN.
