1964 Stratford Broadway, East London just before station moved to Romford Road (now London FB F21). See picture 13492 for more on this appliance.
The old station is still there.

These were also built with a mid mount 850 gpm pump. An example which was supplied to Newcastle and Gateshead can be viewed on this site.

The mid mounted pump - very popular on the Dennis F12 dual purpose appliance too - had the advantage that the main pump could be much more easily operated while keeping the wheeled escape ladder in place. Many cities - notably London - bought mid mounts almost exclusively.

Newcastle & Gateshead Joint Fire Service never had any of those with midship pumps. The Newcastle midship pump ones were AEC Mercury's.
