Sept 10, 2017

The ceremonies begin at Engine 1 / Ladder 24, just across the street from St Francis Assisi Friary where Fr Mychal resided. The first picture is E-1, a 2010 Seagrave pumper rolling out on a call and passing Eng 343 (1951 Mack L85). (6722a)

Engine 343 memorializes the 343 members of FDNY who fell in the 9/11 attack, and carries all their names.

In the 1950s to the 1970s FDNY operated a fleet of Macks and I believe a handful of elderly special purpose units are still on the roster.
