This is a first line pumper assigned to the academy and equipped with a hydraulic lift.
It is carries the company number on the front, rear and sides for the funeral. This is a screenshot from minute 53:20 of the FDNY video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y4_q96Tmi8
on Thursday, April 27, 2007
Other web videos show transfer from the hospital to the funeral home, hanging bunting on Ladder 135 quarters, etc. Search FDNY LODD Wm Tolley 4 20 2017.
The other photo shows the hydraulic lift in lowered position as the casket enters the church.

Clarification. The unit is a 2002 Spartan/Luverne donated to FDNY. It didn't last long in front line service, was put in storage and severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy floodwaters. It was auctioned. The new owners tried restore/rehab w/o much success. Spartan obtained it and rebuilt/replaced everything that was under water, tested it for months and sent it back to FDNY.
www.nycfire.net/forums/index.php?topic=36295.0 is the narrative account of this process, including the LODD funerals where it did its sad duty.

Looks a lot like many Chicago rigs, including Engine 13 around the corner from me. Most of these now also run as EMS BLS first responders, although some of the older ones were not configured for EMS work when they were originally put into service.
