The one nearest the camera is particularly interesting as it (ALY 911Y) passed to the FSC from the London Salvage Corps on the disbandment of the latter.

Hello David, I am interested in the two Dennis's which I believe are ex-Norfolk. Have you got any other photos of them and could you confirm their registration numbers please? Any info much appreciated.

Added by Chris Wood on 10 September 2007.
Sorry Chris, I didnt take any pictures of the Dennis' but I have the photos in extra large size and I can just make out the nearest to be A 52 HNG and the other to be A 54 HNG. Hope that helps.

Thanks for that David. The college acquired a batch of four from Norfolk, A51-54 HNG. A51 has probably been broken for spares and A53 was recently operating as a limo in the north-east.

The Dennis (A54 HNG) served at Dereham Fire Station in Norfolk, Dereham also had A53 HNG

Hi I can confirm that A53HNG was Dereham's Pump Tender Ladder (45ft ladder call sign Dereham 4)and A53HNG was Dereham's Pump Tender (35ft ladder call sign Dereham 1) My late dad was a retained fire fighter at Dereham when both pumps where delivered new in Feb 1984 and saw their whole working life at Dereham until 1992. I've several photo's of them at station and at calls plus special events like the RAF Swanton Morley air shows and Dereham fire days. It's good to hear at least one of them is still working. A52HNG started at one of the whole time stns I think, but finished it's working life at Reepham retained station which neighbours Dereham so they often worked together. I can supply pics if anyone wants them. A252NNG was based at Norwich whole time, then in summer 84 several B regs entered service at Fakenham and Wymondham stn's, and B953BNG (I think I'll check) is still at Wymondham owed by the cedets.

A54HNG is now sitting in a scrap yard just outside of Bloxham, Oxfordshire up for sale but is in a very sad state at the minute :(

ALY 911Y The Dodge G1313 was the last vehicle put into service with the Corps before it closed. It was designed and built by HCB Angus. Its design was based on a standard Type B water tender but with a few changes. The pump and water tank were not fitted and their space was taken up with a built in 7KVA generator, a hugo air compressor and a tunnel for carrying 4 ton of corrugated metal , acro props and sucon folding ladders, it could carry a crew of 6 and some of the gear in the lockers included 80 plastic salvage sheets, 40 polythene sheets, 10 roof covers, 2 portable dams each of 160 gallons, 2 bulk rolls of polythene, 2 submersible pumps and 1 petrol pump, 2 wet vacs, 2 fans and 2 sets of trunking, 1 oxy cutting gear set, 1 portable 4KVA generator and 4 cable reels, 4 flood lights, 1 chainsaw, 1 disc cutter, 1 Ten ton portapower kit, 6 BA sets and spare cylinders and other tools and small gear.
On the roof it carried a 109 ladder, a triple short ladder, a double short ladder and 2 roof ladders. It was a very good vehicle and very reliable if the LSC had not closed the Corps was going to order 4 more. Where is it now, was it involved in the fire
