This is still pretty much the standard pumper in most areas of France, but rescue pumpers with hydraulic extrication equipment are beginning to appear in some SDIS' fleets. Note the continuing popularity of one-man hose carts. Most of these FPT also still carry hook ladders, which are actually quite widely used on a daily basis.
This SDIS is now one of those in France who have started buying Scania based fire trucks. Their new FPTs' specifications and equipment are identical to this Renault.
Like many other SDIS, they continue to operate a large fleet of separate rescue trucks for RTAs, with one assigned go every third or fourth fire station. These have standard cabs and respond along with pumpers, whose crews operate the extrication and other rescue equipment which they carry.
