This wonderful side shot showing the unique configuration of this beloved series of pumpers with their enormous front mounted piston pumps demonstrates just how near the rear axle the driver had to sit!

By all accounts the driver had to exercise extreme caution in intersections and had to have well developed arm and shoulder muscles to cope with all the weight on the front axle wen it came to making any tight turns too....
