It's not ex GMFRS, the last foam tankers they operated were indeed ERF but 'P' reg with a nice shiny cylindrical tank. See photo #32556

Never has been owned by a brigade, home built

After a little digging, I have discovered that this was originally a molasses tanker before being purchased and converted by a private fire brigade, and has, therefore, never been operational for any local authority brigade.

..not quite a private fire brigade.. good old "Bells and Two Tones" -used for film and TV work, and filling the tenders of steam locos on railway Steam specials - I had to help direct this one to Evesham a few years ago to water Castle class 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcombe on a Vintage Trains special to Paddington, after the tanker driver got lost and missed the planned water stop between Birmingham & Worcester..The splendid number plate is a good clue!
