Note that it is right hand drive. This is still common in Switzerland on commercial vehicles which are used in mountainous areas - as it is often more important to see the edge of the road than anything else.
If you have a drop of tens or hundreds of feet, it is helpful to know exactly how close to the edge you are....
Some units have dual steering for added safety and flexibility, but it is not clear from this photo if it is the case here.
