Darlington CB had an Austin heavy unit on its roster as a reserve unit (No 5)as late as 1958.

After the arrival of the new AFS Green Goddess it had to live outside, due to limited space in the 1904 appliance room, and as a result it was never quite as shiny as its newer stable mates!
