I thought the four door crew cab ahead of the front axle was a feature unique to the very clever custom Morita-Hino turntable ladder chassis, which has been illustrated on this site many times. Now Jonathan has unearthed an Irish version of the same unusual design. It certainly offers a lot of body storage - as well as perhaps water tank capacity too - within a comparatively short wheelbase, which helps with maneuverability. I am not sure about the ground clearance, though. It looks like it might get beached if it tried any aggressive off road antics.

The only other obvious drawback to this unusual design is that the cab looks very tight, but this is not likely to be a big problem for an industrial tender, as it probably had to make only quite short runs. As for the absence of any curves, it is a tool, not a beauty contest participant - which is probably just as well !
