Albion Street Fire Station
Sorry the doors are shut! Dennis Pump Escape and Bedford Pump at Albion Street B11 in 1966. situated in Birmingham's (UK) Jewellery Quarter we were a busy station. Opened c1911 and closed in March 1968. A fine old place. Recently a nursery! Replaced by Ladywood Fire Station.

Hi, I'm Patricia I'm a student in my final year studying interior architecture. I am using the old fire station in Albion street as my building for my project. I'm finding it difficult to find any information about the fire station.
I was wondering if I can talking to you about your experience in the station and also about the interior of the station before it was converted into a nursery?
It would be amazing if you can help me.

Hello Patrica.
I knew Albion Street Fire Station quite well my Father was a Fire officer in Birmingham based at Harborne but as Albion Street was our District Station he spent some time there too, and on many occasions I acompanied him as I was a Messenger in the NFS during the War. for more information I suggest you contact the West Midlands Fire Service Heritage Group via [email protected] they will me happy to help you.
They have a Museum at Ettington Road Aston Fire Station which they may arrange for you to visit also a visit to the Old Albion Street Fire Station may be arranged, I have some more photographs which maybe of some interest, you can contact me direct via my e-mail [email protected]
