There were five Humbers purchased in 1966 and four converted by the Cranfield College of Aeronautics (not Beds FS) into Rescue Vehicles. CMJ392D at Dunstable, CMJ393D at Biggleswade, CMJ394D at Bedford and DBM151D at Leighton Buzzard. CMJ395D was not converted and kept as Workshop vehicle at Dunstable still in Army paint.

Warwickshire bought a job lot for various conversions, CAC572B was bought by Bristol Fire Brigade from them and converted into a Breakdown Lorry to replace their ageing Dodge 4 x4 ambulance conversion. See picture 16193. The Humber was used predominantly as a BL but ran in place of the ET carrying the RTA gear if the latter was off the run. Remained in service with the County of Avon into the mid 70s
