Many Japanese used import 4wd fire appliances have been imported into New Zealand. Usually converted into cheap low mileage 4wd utility vehicles, some have been sold off as industrial/rural fire vehicles. This 1985 Nissan Safari s privately owned by Fire & Safety Training Limited based in Timaru where it is used for training or as in this March 2014 photo, providing fire cover - this time at Timaru International Motor Raceway.
