Buxton Angloco Volvo Bronto platform

An unscheduled lunch break in the town of Buxton in the UK during a motoring trip in 2010 led to a visit to the fire station where we had a fine reception and great co-operation from the station officer, who had the crew position the various apparatus for photographs. This 2000 Angloco Volvo FM12 with 32 M. Bronto platform serves Buxton and the surrounding area. Great friendly crew who went out of their way to make a visit to the UK that much more memorable!

A bit surprising this Volvo does not have a rear steering axle for improved maneuverability.

Many 32 meter Brontos and London's Magirus ALPs are on rear steer tandem axle chassis, including Mercedes, MAN and Scania chassis as well as Volvos.

They are in use all over Europe, the Middle East and some countries in the Far East.
