Ignore the 1926 date on the bonnet, this is reported to be a 1922/23 Renault that was fitted with a pump and served the Queenstown volunteer brigade. It is now part of the Wanaka Toy & Transport Museum but was on display in October 2013 during the Queenstown brigade jubilee celebrations.

This generation of Renault cars and trucks all shared with Mack a distinctive streamlined appearance, due to the radiator being located behind the engine. This design lasted for many years, but was eventually replaced by the more commonplace idea of improving airflow by positioning the radiator right up front!

Hi David and Rob! There was a nickname for them in Sweden, Kolskyffel, in english Coal shovel, ´cos the shape of the front of the hood!
